FIDE:s generalförsamling har möte under helgen i Budapest.
Flera viktiga punkter ska behandlas, bland annat valet av ny ordförande till FIDE:s Etik- och disciplinnämnd och Kirgizistans motion om att ta bort alla sanktioner mot Ryssland och Belarus. En motion som upprört och oroat schackvärlden, och även fått den Ukrainska ambassen i Sverige att agera.
